HW12G due 5/1: A Dream Deferred and Original Poem

1. A Dream Deferred by Langston Hughes–Read this Poem and take notes; look for the rhythm, word choice, sound, image and feeling it evokes. (Modernist Poem)

2. Transcendental/Romantic Poem–(Due Friday, May 1st) This poem should be rooted in either the thematic subject of love, solitude, or God (or a combination). Additionally, you should use the natural world as a device to help develop your chosen theme. As for form, keep in mind that both schools feature irregular rhythm and rhyme. Stanzaic shape is up to you.
