1. Read and annotate William Barrett’s “The Encounter with Nothingness” and Jean Paul Sartre’s “Existentialism is a Humanism.” READ BARRETT’S ESSAY FIRST! Remember, you must annotate all readings for this class! Failure to do so will result in a zero!
Notes:
- All supplies should be in place!
- Remember, you should be prepared at the beginning of every class. Notebooks should be out alongside the day’s reading.
- As the term final is a culmination of the term’s reading, it is critical that you keep up with the reading. Failure to do so, will result in a content vacuum that will make completing the term final (and the course) impossible. So, stay on top of the reading!!!
- Be prepared to discuss the reading! During class discourse, I will not wait for you to volunteer your thoughts, I will call on you to share your thoughts whether your hand is up or not…so be prepared.
