2. Beat Poems–With three sample poems, craft your own Beat poem. Your poem should mimic the samples in theme, voice, and form (or lack thereof).

3. Our very own Annabelle Einhorn will perform in the semifinals of a spoken word competition!

HW10 due 3/23: Siddhartha, Mandala, and Essay Assessment

1. Siddhartha–Read and annotate Amongst the People.
2. Essay Assessment–Thoroughly and meticulously grade the essay distributed today. Remember, score each category of the rubric. Total score out of 20! You should be prepared to rationalize your score.

HW12G due 3/20: America

1. America by Allen Ginsberg–Read and annotate!
2. Group Presentations–Be sure to closely read the guidelines for the project! As a group, you are responsible for setting deadlines leading up to the day of your presentation.
3. Beat Poetry–Your next poem, inspired by the Beat poems we have read thus far, is due Thursday of next week! I will share a wee bit more info with you on the morrow. Till then…

2. Research and take notes on Carl Jung’s Shadow, Anima, and Persona. (In your binder)

HW10 due 3/18: Siddhartha

1. Siddhartha–Read and annotate “Awakening”
2. Mandala–You should have completed your research! The notes should be in your binder. Update on dates:

  • Blueprint (rouge sketch of your idea): Monday, March 23rd
  • Final Project: Monday, March 30th

3. Bring your copies of The Alchemist tomorrow!!! Be sure to have your annotations. Take post its out and place them inside the front cover of the novel (unless it is YOUR copy).
